"Supply Chains" or "Supply chain management" was introduced in an interview with the Financial Times in 1982 by Keith Oliver from a management consulting firm named Booz Allen Hamilton. However, it was not until the late 1990s that "supply chain management" emerged, and managers began to use with a steady increase.

Supply chain management is closely linked to most of the business activities: from planning strategy, planning and managing the process of searching, purchasing and manufacturing products from raw materials, managing logistics to coordinating with partners, customers. In other words, supply chain management involves supply and demand management of the entire enterprise system.

Competition in the global marketplace becomes increasingly fierce, putting pressure on producers, forcing them to cut down the costs, improving product quality, along with increasing the quality of customer service . Good management of supply chain will contribute to improve competitiveness as well as increase the efficiency of production and business for enterprises.

However, in Vietnam, many businesses do not really understand the importance of supply chain so they can not maintain the foothold, improve competitiveness, expand market share and take the initiative in production and business. 

The course "Supply Chain Management" implemented by PEO will help entrepreneurs understand more about the role of this activity, thereby identifying the situation of supply chain operations and providing solutions to improve efficiency of supply chain activity in enterprise.
